I am Asmaa Diab. I came here to the US as a refugee from Syria with my husband, Hassan, and three boys. I spent three years in Egypt before being resettled to Philadelphia. I started to make cookies for a friend at Swarthmore who would sell to her neighbors. Then I joined art projects and would share my food when we gather together. Through the projects, I met different people who asked me to cook for their events as a caterer. I cooked for a lot of people and groups such as student clubs and public presentations at Swarthmore College, University of Pennsylvania, City Hall, Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, and even Governor Tom Wolf. I offer individualized catering based on what each client needs or wants. My food is clean, healthy, and looks beautiful. I have also taught cooking workshops with the Culinary Literacy Center at the Free Library.
